Metacognitive Analysis #2.

This has been my first experience using power point on my own. I was in panic at first since I was not familiar with ICT tool but I managed to accomplish the task the best I could.

I found the use of this tool to be quite enjoyable, entertaining and absolutely useful for studying and, it seems to me, that it is useful for teaching as well. Technological resources have been increasingly used during the last years in several fields, and regarding education I believe it is very important to be updated since technology is a common part of every- day life.

Computer aided education enables students to obtain large amounts of information and the wide range of available tools makes learning an experimental and creative process. Moreover, students find learning by means of technology tools much more stimulating and engaging than with traditional methods.

Regarding the reading material on Academic Writing Advice, I consider it to be very relevant and appropriate taking into consideration that we will have to deal with this kind of writing this year. The content of the document provides us with useful and invaluable information to develop our writing skills.

Entry # 13- Abstracts

ABSTRACTS Metacognitive Analysis # 13. An abstract is a short text that comprises the main concepts of a paper;it is not a simple summary of a document. An abstract should contain the purpose of the paper, the problem that the work attempts to solve; the major findings found as a result of the analysis; and a brief summary of the conclusions. In this sense, it is relevant to highlight that the main purpose of an abstract is to provide  readers with the most salient ideas of the work.In consequence,  readers can evaluate and decide whether the content of the research is relevant and useful in their own research. Moreover, an abstract should allow the readers to get enough information about the paper without requiring them to read the actual document. Accordingly, a good abstract requires accuracy; brevity and clarity, and it must be written in a formal style.
